Community Partnership Program reaches new milestone as more regional Australians benefit from member-owned banking

Regional Australia Bank has announced its Community Partnership Program (CPP) returned more than $3.07 million to community organisations in 2026, an increase of more than $277,000 on the previous year. The result further strengthens support for local clubs, schools, charities and community organisations across regional Australia.

One of the things that makes member-owned banking different is that success is shared with the communities we serve.

The Community Partnership Program allows members to support causes they care about through their everyday banking. Contributions are funded by the bank through Community Partnership Accounts and directed to organisations nominated by participating members.

Regional Australia Bank Chief Executive Officer David Heine said the program demonstrates the impact member-owned banking can have when profits are reinvested into communities.

The Community Partnership Program is a practical example of how we’re turning everyday banking into positive outcomes for regional Australia while strengthening support for the clubs, schools, charities and organisations that help our communities thrive. We call this finding the good that money can do.

Since launching in 2009, the Community Partnership Program has grown from distributing just over $12,000 in its first year to becoming one of the largest community banking initiatives of its kind in regional Australia.

The program continues to grow alongside Regional Australia Bank and now extends to Summerland Bank members following the successful merger of the two organisations. This expansion gives more Australians the opportunity to support local causes through their everyday banking, at no additional cost.

Community Impact Spotlight

Glen Innes Elks Rugby Union Club

The Glen Innes Elks Rugby Union Club is one of the many organisations benefiting from the Community Partnership Program. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, the volunteer-run club uses CPP funding to help cover player travel, facility maintenance and participation costs, ensuring more people across the region can stay connected through sport. The support allows the club to focus on developing players, growing participation and strengthening community connections.

The 2026 result highlights the program's ongoing momentum and Regional Australia Bank's commitment to helping regional communities thrive. Through the Community Partnership Program, Regional Australia Bank continues to reinvest in the organisations that form the backbone of regional Australia, from sporting clubs and schools to charities and community groups.

As Regional Australia Bank continues to grow, so too does the impact of the Community Partnership Program, creating more opportunities for members to direct support to the communities they call home.
