Regional Australia Bank is inviting members and communities to share their views on the future of banking services in regional Australia.
As a member-owned bank, we understand that banking means different things to different people. While many members enjoy the convenience of digital banking, others continue to value access to local branches, face-to-face support, cash services and trusted advice.
That is why we are supporting a survey through the Regional Banking Investment Alliance (RBIA).
The survey will help build a better understanding of how Australians choose to bank and what services they believe should be available in regional and rural communities into the future.
The results will be provided to Federal Government and will help inform important discussions about the future of banking services across Australia.
What is the proposed solution?
The Regional Banking Investment Alliance is advocating for a cost-sharing model designed to support banks that continue to invest in regional, rural and remote face-to-face banking services.
The proposal would ensure all banks contribute fairly to maintaining access to essential banking services in regional communities, either through their own branch investment or through the industry-funded model.
Importantly, the proposal would not require taxpayer funding and is designed to help support the long-term sustainability of regional banking services.
Have your say
Please complete the survey by Monday 21 September 2026.
Whether you bank online, visit a branch regularly or use a combination of both, we want to hear from you.
The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and your feedback will help ensure regional communities have a voice in decisions that shape the future of banking.
