Activating your card

Just got your new card in the mail? We’ve made it quick and easy for you to get started. Follow these steps to activate your card and set your PIN.

How to activate your card

If you have just received a Regional Australia Bank Visa or Access card, you must activate it before using it. You can activate your card via the Mobile Banking App, logging in to Internet Banking or calling 132 067 to speak to one of our friendly team.

Alternatively, you can pop into a branch and activate your card with us face to face.

In the Mobile Banking App

If you are registered for online banking and have one-time passwords enabled you can use this service.

  1. Login to the App and open your account balances
  2. Open the menu on the top left and head to Cards
  3. Find the new card and tap Active Card. Follow the prompts to activate and set a PIN
  4. You can manage cards and change your PIN using the App at any time

In Internet Banking

If you are registered for online banking and have one-time passwords enabled you can use this service.

  1. Login to Internet Banking
  2. Using the top navigation, open Settings, and tap on the Card Activation menu item
  3. Follow the prompts to activate the new Card
  4. You can also reset card PINs in Internet Banking under Settings > PIN Change

Looking for other ways to activate or need help?

You can also activate your card by contacting us directly and waiting for your PIN to arrive in the mail. If you have any questions or would like to enable one-time passwords, you can call our Service Support Centre or talk to us at your local branch

Things to know

  1. You do not need to activate a replacement card e.g. one that has been damaged or is expired. Please note, your PIN will remain the same as your old card.
  2. Keep you PIN safe
    • Don't share it with family, friends or online
    • Don't write it down or save it to your desktop or mobile device
    • Don't give it to anyone. Even us. We will never ask you you for it
