Regional Australia Bank team tackles Tour de Rocks 2022

Regional Australia Bank was proud to once again support this year’s Tour De Rocks, a wonderful local initiative which saw several dedicated staff members (current and former) take on an epic 3-day bike ride from Armidale. The team travelled 254km on mountain bikes supported by a wonderful crew who played a pivotal role in keeping the event running smoothly.

Well done and congratulations to the team of riders; Blake Davies, Archie & Dane O’Connor, Samantha Johnson, Rhys Williams, Karen Frost, Toby Killen & Ian Target and a very special shout out to the wonderful support crew; Troy Johnson, Janelle Waters, Tilly O’Connor & Kayley Ferrier.

Regional Australia Bank team rider, Dane O’Connor, said events like Tour de Rocks are pivotal in raising funds for cancer services in Regional areas.

“These events have improved the cancer journey for so many regional cancer patients and their families. I was extremely proud to be able to ride four months after being treated again and to do it with the Regional Australia Bank team and family made it very emotional and purposeful,” he said.

Dane said Regional Australia Bank was strongly represented and displayed its true values over the three day event.

“What Regional Australia Bank does in our community is something to be extremely proud of. It was a great lesson for my kids on how giving back to the community is self-fulfilling.”

Regional Australia Bank has been a Jersey sponsor of Tour de Rocks since its inception. In addition, the team raised close to $6000 for this year’s ride, with the money going directly to Tour de Rocks so they can continue supporting the great work of cancer organisations across the region. Tour de Rocks is also a registered participant in our Community Partnership Program.
