Dear Members,
As we celebrate the festive season, it is with great pride and heartfelt gratitude that we reflect on what has been a significant and transformative year for Regional Australia Bank.
Over the past twelve months, our organisation has grown in ways that truly matter, deepening our impact across regional communities and strengthening the connections that make them thrive. As a purpose-led, member-owned bank, this progress reflects our ability to do more of what we were created to do: support, invest in, and empower regional Australians.
Community Partnership Program
Being member-owned means our focus is on you and your community, investing in services and partnerships that make a real difference. This year, through our Community Partnership Program, we proudly invested over $2.79 million into local causes. These funds supported grassroot organisations, community events, environmental initiatives, and sporting clubs, helping build more connected and vibrant regional towns.
Merger with Summerland Bank
We also strengthened our footprint through a merger with Summerland Bank, a financially strong, purpose-driven, customer-owned bank that shares our values of mutuality, sustainability, and regional empowerment. This merger was supported by you, our members, who voted yes to this opportunity. Your endorsement reflects a shared belief that this is a positive, future-focused step for both organisations and most importantly for you.
Both banks have a proud history of service, local knowledge, and community investment. Through this merger, we aim to combine our strengths to deliver more for you: more services, more innovation, and more regional impact, while continuing to stay true to our member-first ethos.
What the merger means for you
More locations, no closures
Maintain and grow a network of 49 locations with no closures planned.
Greater regional support
Retain over 450 regional staff with no job losses.
Driving innovation
Invest more in digital banking, security, and innovation.
Better banking
Improve pricing competitiveness and product range.
Stronger local communities
Strengthen our investment in local communities.
The driving force behind our success is a dedicated staff across regional Australia, locals who live, work, and contribute to their communities. Their care and commitment feel especially meaningful during this season of giving, and remain the foundation of everything we do.
Looking ahead, as we turn the page to a new year, we remain committed to growing with purpose. That means continuing to invest in services and technologies that improve the lives of our members and the communities where we all live, guided by long-term thinking, community voice, and sustainability.
Thank you
Thank you for your continued support. Together, we are shaping a strong future for regional Australia.
Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful Christmas filled with warmth and cheer, and a prosperous New Year.
Warm regards,
David Heine
