Over 2,300 organisations supported in 2025, powered by more than 100,000 regional Australians who choose to bank locally.

Regional Australia Bank has announced its Community Partnership Program (CPP) returned more than $2.79 million to over 2,300 community organisations in 2025, strengthening local clubs, schools, health services, emergency volunteers, and grassroots charities across regional Australia.

The CPP is a simple idea that delivers extraordinary results. When members open a Community Partnership Account, they nominate a local organisation they care about. At the end of each financial year, the bank calculates 1 percent of the member’s average annual account balance and donates that amount directly from its profits to the nominated group, at no cost to the member. This unique approach ensures everyday banking becomes real, measurable support for local priorities.

Regional Australia Bank CEO, David Heine, said the results demonstrate the strength of the mutual model.

Through the Community Partnership Program this year, we donated around 13 percent of our profits back into communities. That compares with an average of 0.6 percent from the big four banks, and around 5 percent from other mutuals. It shows the scale of impact a member-owned bank can deliver when people choose to bank for their community.

The program is powered by more than 100,000 regional Australians who choose to bank with Regional Australia Bank. As member-owners, they collectively decide where the money goes, ensuring profits are reinvested into the priorities of the regions themselves. “Community groups are the heartbeat of our towns,” Mr Heine said. “By backing them, our members help regional Australia stay strong, connected, and ready for the future.”

Looking ahead, Regional Australia Bank plans to continue growing the Community Partnership Program in line with the bank’s expansion into more communities across regional Australia. This commitment ensures more Australians living outside the cities will have access to quality, competitive banking services and the opportunity to see the profits of their bank reinvested in the priorities of their own towns.

Now in its 22nd year, the CPP continues to return millions of dollars annually, with events held across the bank’s footprint to celebrate the volunteers, leaders, and organisations making a difference in every region.
