Your PayBand is connected to your nominated everyday transaction account and allows you to make Visa payWave payments, just like a Visa Debit Card. But because it’s battery free, waterproof and made of a durable silicone it’s tough enough to keep up with your active lifestyle.

Don’t forget, for payments under $100 you simply tap and go, payments over $100 will require a PIN to complete.

What is a PayBand?

A Regional Australia Bank PayBand is a tear resistant silicon band that contains a chip linked to your chosen Regional Australia Bank savings account. It uses the same contactless technology as your Regional Australia Visa Bank debit card but gives you the convenience of tapping with your wrist instead of using your debit card to make contactless purchases.

How does the PayBand work?

You can use the Regional Australia Bank PayBand to tap and pay instead of using your Visa debit card wherever you see the contactless symbol. The transaction will be debited from your chosen Regional Australia Bank savings bank account and for purchases over $100 you will be required to enter your PIN.

How do I set up and activate a PayBand?

Once you have received your Regional Australia Bank PayBand and your PIN in the mail, you can activate it in Regional Australia Bank's Mobile Banking App.

You can also call activate your PayBand by calling 132 067 or dropping into your nearest branch.

Can I change the PIN?

To change the pin you need to first set up second factor authentication. Second factor authentication is an extra layer of security that you can set up by calling 132 067.

 Updating your PIN can be performed within the settings menu of Internet Banking or your Regional Australia Bank Mobile Banking App.

Is the Regional Australia Bank PayBand safe to use?

All contactless purchases you make with the Regional Australia Bank PayBand are safe and secure. Members will be reimbursed for any unauthorised transactions provided that the member has not contributed to the loss and contacted Regional Australia Bank promptly. Refer to your debit card’s conditions of use for full details, including when a customer will be liable.

Is the Regional Australia Bank PayBand waterproof?

Yes, the Regional Australia Bank PayBand is waterproof.

Is there a limit on the value of purchases I can make using my Regional Australia Bank PayBand?

There is no maximum transaction amount for contactless purchases made using your Regional Australia Bank PayBand. You can tap it for purchases just as you would use other methods capable of contactless technology such as your card. For purchases over $100, you will be required to enter your PIN.

Does the Regional Australia Bank PayBand replace my existing Visa debit card?

No, the Regional Australia Bank PayBand is linked to your existing Regional Australia Bank savings account and can be used in conjunction with your existing Visa debit card.

Will my Regional Australia Bank PayBand card number be the same as my Visa debit card number

No, your Regional Australia Bank PayBand will have a unique 16 digit card number. To obtain this number is, simply call 132 067. Once we provide you with this number, please keep it in a secure location so you have the card number and expiry date available in case your Regional Australia Bank PayBand is lost or stolen.

How do I put on the Regional Australia Bank PayBand?

  1. Place the Regional Australia Bank PayBand on top of your wrist with the logo facing up.
  2. Thread the strap through the loop and tighten.
  3. Fix into position by pressing the metal pins into the holes on the band. You’re then good to go! Remember to keep your Band away from other Near Field Communication (NFC) devices as your Regional Australia Bank PayBand may interfere with other payment devices.

What do I do if my Regional Australia Bank PayBand is not working?

If your Regional Australia Bank PayBand is not working, please call 132 067 and advise that your Regional Australia Bank PayBand is damaged. Please be aware that due to the limited number of devices a replacement Regional Australia Bank PayBand may not be available. That means if you break, damage or lose your Regional Australia Bank PayBand, we are unable to issue a replacement.

What happens if my Regional Australia Bank PayBand is lost or stolen

You can deactivate and lock the PayBand in your Regional Australia Bank Mobile Banking App under the card management functionality. This will prevent it being used.  Otherwise, please call 132 067 to report your Regional Australia Bank PayBand lost or stolen.

  The Regional Australia Bank PayBand will be blocked without impacting the use of your Regional Australia Bank savings account or other Visa debit cards. Please be aware that due to the limited number of devices a replacement Regional Australia Bank PayBand may not be available. That means if you break, damage or lose your Regional Australia Bank PayBand, we may be unable to issue a replacement.

If you choose to place your Regional Australia Bank PayBand on hold temporarily until you find it, the Regional Australia Bank PayBand will be blocked without impacting the use of your Regional Australia Bank savings account or other Visa debit cards.

If the Regional Australia Bank PayBand is handed in (e.g. to a Police station), it will be nearly impossible to determine what financial institution it is from as it is unbranded therefore it is unlikely that you will be identified as the Regional Australia Bank PayBand owner.

Can I use Regional Australia Bank PayBand overseas?

Yes, you can use Regional Australia Bank PayBand to tap and pay instead of using your Visa debit card wherever you see the contactless symbol.

Can I use Regional Australia Bank PayBand to withdraw cash?

No, unfortunately you will not be able to withdraw cash from the POS (point of sale) at merchants or at ATMs using Regional Australia Bank PayBand. Regional Australia Bank PayBand does not support Cardless Cash.

Can I use Regional Australia Bank PayBand for online purchases?

No, Regional Australia Bank PayBands can’t be used online. You can only use Regional Australia Bank PayBands for in store contactless purchases.

Can I order multiple Regional Australia Bank PayBands

There is a limit of one free Regional Australia Bank PayBand per account holder. So for joint accounts where there are two account holders, this means you can have two Regional Australia Bank PayBands.

If my account has multiple bands, how do I tell which band belongs to whom and how can I tell who performed the transaction on a statement?

Each Regional Australia Bank PayBand has its own unique serial number on the inside of the band. You will need to contact us on 132 067 to match that serial number to the Regional Australia Bank PayBand owner.

A Regional Australia Bank PayBand transaction on a statement details the last four digits of the Regional Australia Bank PayBand card number. This card number can be attributed to the Regional Australia Bank PayBand owner.

What happens if I close my Regional Australia Bank savings account?

Your Regional Australia Bank PayBand will no longer work once your Regional Australia Bank savings account is closed.

Will the terms and conditions for my Regional Australia Bank Visa debit card and Regional Australia Bank savings account change as a result of ordering or using Regional Australia Bank PayBands?

No, the terms and conditions that apply to your Regional Australia Bank Visa debit card and Regional Australia Bank savings account will continue to apply.

What is contactless technology?

Contactless technology offers you a faster way to pay with your contactless card or phone at participating merchants. Just hold your Regional Australia Bank PayBand against the terminal wherever you see the contactless symbol. In Australia, for purchases over $100, you will be required to enter your PIN.

How do I know if my contactless payment using the Regional Australia Bank PayBand has been successful?

Check the merchant’s terminal for confirmation that your payment has been successful. The merchant will also provide you with a receipt.

Will the contactless terminal activate if I walk past it while wearing my Regional Australia Bank PayBand?

The merchant terminal won’t activate your Regional Australia Bank PayBand just by walking past it. Your Regional Australia Bank PayBand must be within four centimetres of the contactless terminal for more than half a second, and the merchant must have already entered the transaction amount into the terminal (and it must be approved) before a payment is processed.

Is the Regional Australia Bank PayBand available in other colours or designs

No. At this stage, Regional Australia Bank PayBand stock is limited to the current black, unbranded design.
